The Never Taught
Community Program
A $50,000, one-year partnership to bring plain-language financial education — in five languages, with judgment-free AI guides — to the credit-invisible, immigrant, and first-generation communities your foundation most wants to reach.
Most People Were Never Taught. We Teach — And We Can Prove It.
Most people were handed credit cards, bills, and life-changing financial decisions without a single lesson. DueSmart exists to close that gap.
We are an Atlanta-based financial-education social enterprise: multilingual courses that teach money and credit in plain language, AI voice guides that answer without judgment, and a bill-and-credit Tracker that turns knowledge into monthly habit. Every relationship begins with one honest, free question — where are you in your financial life? — answered in sixty seconds with a personal starting plan. No email wall, no Social Security number, no bank login.
The request: $50,000 over 12 months to run the Never Taught Community Program — sponsored course access for 170 community members, twelve bilingual workshops with trusted local partners, Spanish- and Haitian-Creole-first outreach, and measured, reported outcomes.
Bank and corporate foundations fund financial health because it works upstream of everything else — housing, small business, family stability. This program puts your investment directly into education, access, and measurement — never lending, never credit-repair services, never outcome promises. Honest teaching, honestly measured.
Financial Illiteracy Is A Tax On The People Who Can Least Afford It
💸 It Costs Real Money
Surveyed Americans estimate financial illiteracy cost them roughly $1,500 each in a single year (NFEC) — a regressive tax that lands hardest on households with the least room to absorb it.
👤 30 Million Are Credit Invisible
Nearly 30 million U.S. adults have no usable credit file — concentrated among Black and Hispanic communities, immigrants, and young adults (CFPB). Invisible files mean higher deposits, worse rates, and closed doors.
🏠 49 Million Are Locked Out
Roughly 49 million Americans are effectively locked out of homeownership by thin or damaged credit — the single largest wealth-building tool in American life.
🗣️ Language Is The Unserved Gap
Financial education in Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Haitian Creole is scarce; voice-based, judgment-free guidance in those languages is nearly nonexistent. Immigrant and first-generation families are taught last — or never.
The industries surrounding these consumers often profit from confusion — dispute mills, guaranteed-deletion claims, subscription traps. Education-first, multilingual, honesty-forward alternatives are rare. That is the gap this program funds.
One Honest Question, Then A Path
Everything starts free, in the learner's language, at their real starting point.
The Credit Health Passport — the free front door. Five questions, sixty seconds, five languages. It recommends a starting stage and three next actions — no email wall, no SSN, no bank login, and never a score, report, or lending decision.
Plain-language courses at every stage. Foundation (how banking and credit actually work), Repair (a lawful, CFPB/FTC-grounded 90-day system — no fake loopholes), Growth (utilization, payoff strategy, homeownership readiness), and Generational Wealth (legacy, plain-English). Written in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese & Haitian Creole.
AI voice guides that never judge. Learners ask out loud — in English, Spanish, French, or Portuguese — and get patient, plain answers. For adults who were never taught, the freedom to ask "beginner" questions without shame is the difference between starting and staying stuck.
The DueSmart Tracker — knowledge into habit. Every bill, card, and due date in one calm view. No bank login required. Education becomes a monthly practice, which is where financial health actually lives.
Clear teaching, honest tools, and a plan you can follow — never a promised score, approval, or outcome. Disclaimers on every page. Education, not advice. That restraint is why community partners — and funders — can put their name beside ours.
The Platform Is Already Built, Live, And Priced
Your grant does not fund software development or promises. It funds access, outreach, and delivery on infrastructure that already works.
Live Today
All four course stages, the Passport, the voice guides, and the Tracker are shipping now — every dollar goes to people, not product development.
Five Languages, Voice-First
Written courses in EN/ES/FR/PT/Haitian Creole; AI voice guides in four languages. Senior-friendly design and audio-first learning lower every barrier — literacy, eyesight, shame.
Compliance-Led
CFPB/FTC-grounded repair education, no outcome promises anywhere, education-not-advice framing on every page. We lead the category on the standards your compliance team will check.
Community-Rooted Delivery
The program runs through trusted local partners — churches, credit unions, immigrant-service organizations — in metro Atlanta, where we are headquartered.
Sustainable Without You
DueSmart earns revenue from honest one-time pricing. Your grant buys access for people who cannot yet afford it — it does not create a program that dies when the grant ends.
Transparent By Design
Quarterly reporting, pre/post confidence surveys, and a public-facing story you can share. We measure because teaching without measuring is just talking.
🎙️ Hear The Program Before You Fund It
The voice guide this proposal describes is live on this page. Press the button and ask it anything — where someone should start, what the Passport asks, how the courses work.

Teaching, Honestly Measured
📈 Twelve-Month Targets
Targets are program goals, not guarantees — and we will report against every one of them, including the misses. We measure knowledge, confidence, and habit (Tracker usage), never promised scores or approvals.
🌱 Sustainability
DueSmart is a revenue-earning social enterprise: honest one-time pricing sustains the platform, so this program does not create dependence on renewed grants. What renewal buys — if the results earn it — is more access: more scholarships, more languages deployed, more partner communities. The infrastructure is permanent either way.
$50,000. Twelve months. 170 sponsored learners, 12 bilingual workshops, 5,000 free starting plans — measured, reported, and delivered through community partners your team can visit. They were never taught. Together, we teach. We would be honored to build this with your foundation.
